Brief article about the Club 100 members running for political office in 1954.

Eight club members, four Republicans and four Democrats, are among the candidates running for political offices this year. The Senatorial race has been made most interesting as club members Jim Lovell, Republican and Sakae Takahashi, Democrat and honorary member Wilfred Tsukiyama, Republican are all seeking seats.

Running for the house from the Fourth district is Spark Matsunaga, Democrat and first-time candidate. In the Fifth District Republican Yasutaka Fukushima is a candidate for reelection.

On the island of Hawaii, Republican Joe Yamauchi is seeking the post of auditor while Hayato Tanaka, Democrat is seeking the supervisor post.

Toshio Kabutan, Democrat incumbent, is again seeking the county attorney position on Kauai.

Club 100, as an organization, is nonpolitical, but we encourage and offer the best of luck to all candidates, regardless of party affiliation.
