The Gothic Line

April 3, 1945 – Receiving new weapons and vehicles nears Pisa, the 100th/442nd moved north of Lucca for training and the study of new battle plans.  To crack the Gothic line, the 100th provided distractions, climbing Georgia Hill as the 442nd circled around to surprise the enemy and capture the hill within half an hour.  With the Gothic Line cracked, the Allies were able to progress up the line with the100th/442nd in the lead.
